As we get older and our bodies begin to change, the fit of our clothes matters more. Most off the rack styles are made with a pre-set proportion in sizing, which may or may not match your body.
Our suggestion: make friends with a skilled tailor. Baggy items or clothing that clings too tightly never looks quite appropriate and can be fixed.
- Invest in a high quality basic wardrobe. The pieces may cost more, but they will last longer and provide a wonderful basic canvas for updating. Think little black dress, straight leg jeans and a classic trench coat.
- Invest in good undergarments: the foundation affects the fit.
