Even though our ntents often hit the mark, our thoughts sometimes, well…lead us awry. A common problem that leads directly to mistakes women make when they dress. The 3 most common culprits:
Thought: “Hey! I looked hot in that at thirty & it’s in great shape – and the style is coming back.”
Our Advice: DON’T DO IT! First: it’s not coming back like last time. Details and styling will be updated. Second you are not thirty anymore so the whole effect is different. And not in a good way. Just don’t do it.
Thought: “All the young girls are wearing that – I think I could get away with it, too. After all, I still have great legs/breasts/hair.”
Our Advice: DO NOT DO IT! Young girls get away with a lot because they are young. Women however, look desperate or out of the loop. Neither of which is what you want to be.
Thought: “It’s the latest thing. I’ll look like I’m in the fashion ‘know’.”
Our Advice: WATCH OUT! Just because it’s the latest does not necessarily mean it’s for you. To keep a current “in the know” look, you may just need to update accessories, or one item – like a top or skirt. Stick with shapes and silhouettes that flatter you and use the new looks to suit your needs.
Thought: “It’s soooo comfortable.” Or the variant phrase: “I won’t run into anybody – I’m just going to the grocery.” (Of course, that’s exactly when you will run into your ex husband/boss/friend/etc.) It doesn’t take much to look “put together”.
Our Advice: Take the two extra minutes before you go & you will never have to worry about wishing you had taken the time.
